A critical element when deliberately trying to manage your corporate culture is to be prepared to move people into or out of positions. If your ambition is to create a high performing and healthy organisation, you cannot leave people in roles where they are unable to perform to the required levels. Every person has a “place” where they will come into their own, but sometimes that place is not in your organisation. Leaving them there or finding a “hole” somewhere else for them sends all the wrong messages to your top performers and neither is it the right thing to do to that individual. Instead, you need a way to fairly work with them to find their place and “place their talent”.
In this video, Peter Hewitt, CEO of Omial Novi d.o.o. from Croatia explains how his “Sorting Machine” works to ensure that people are placed where they can excel.
